Global2Local’s core service is translation, and we specialize in high quality technical translations for businesses. Our clients are generally companies that are working internationally. Sometimes we work with a company’s marketing department, other times it is their regulatory team, their legal team, or even the person in charge of safety instructions.
We regularly translate manuals, handbooks, MSDS sheets, brochures, power points, the sky is the limit. If your company has it in English, we can turn it into another language. Similarly, Global2Local has strategic partnerships with other companies, such as printers. If needed, we can take on your entire project. If your company has a glossy 10 page brochure about your products and services, we can simply do the translation piece or you can give us the booklet, and we can take on the entire process of recreating the same brochure into another language or languages.
The secret to Global2Local’s technical skill is our enormous database of linguists who are not only translators, they are also industry professionals. For example, if an engineering company has a document for us to translate into Chinese, we are going to use not just a Chinese translator, but a Chinese translator who is also an engineer.
The second secret is our processes. We follow strict translation guidelines on each and every translation job; we require that a translator translate a document, a second separate translator edit it, and a third proofread it. In the above example, we would be using 3 Chinese translator, all of whom have engineering background, and either the translator who translates the document or the translator who edits the document would be certified. This process guarantees a certain level of quality, it also guarantees that most mistakes will be caught.
When Global2Local refers to a “certified translator,” we mean a translator who is ATA certified. The ATA is the translation industry’s standard, they set the industry guidelines and provide a top notch certification process for translators. Now, because the ATA is an American organization, there are several reasons a translator may not be certified, and does not necessarily mean an uncertified translator is not qualified. However, because Global2Local is also a government contractor, we are required to use translators that are US citizens and live in the US. Therefore, we feel very comfortable with our requirements and have a large database of certified translators.
