Social media has impacted my life in several positive ways. Primarily, it allows me to connect with those in the translation world in ways that were not otherwise possible before the birth of Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin. It not only allows me to keep up with my own industry, but it allows me to see what topics are important to the people that work in the language services industry, as well as what the hot button issues are.
This post is going to be short, we are busy in the best kind of way. However, I wanted to thank some of the people that inspire me every day, namely the Twitter kings and queens of the language services industry, who I count on to keep me updated. They are there day after day, they never stop, and, when I only have a few seconds to catch something, I go right to their feeds. My top favorite is, by far, @linguagreca. Other favorites are @wordyrama, @atgtranslation, @acgtranslation, and @ergeekgoddess. Of course, there are many more and some that are picking up my attention but these top 5 seem to never miss a beat!
This is my shout-out to you wonderful women! Keep up the good work because your sphere of influence is farther than you can imagine!!
Any other ideas on people I shoufld follow or must-read blogs in the language services industry? I am always looking for my new favorite thing or a different perspective! You can follow us @globaltolocal……If you tweet me or email me your Twitter name, we promise to follow you. Also, if you write a noteworthy blog, please email us and tell us what it is, we are compiling a list of language services blogs and Twitter feeds for a new page on our website…….don’t be shy!! if you are a translator, I am sure you can write!!

Hello Grace,
Thanks for including me in your list. This is great! I’m glad you enjoy my tweets. As you know, my job as a translator will now turn into an as needed/part-time mode, so my language-related tweeting will suffer its toll. Now, I will be focusing more on the Hispanic/Latino market in the U.S., from a cultural and marketing perspective. You can follow my new endeavor at @LatinaComm.
Don’t worry, @ATGTranslations will still be around! I just have to figure out in what capacity
